Rites Thursday For Herman Fedders

Funeral services for Herman Fedders will be held Thursday afternoon, April 27 from the Christian ,Reformed Church at Ireton. at 1:30 o'clock. Rev. P. Ouwinga officiating. Mr. Fedders died Saturday morning at the Sacred Heart hospital, LeMars.

He was born at Gelderland, Netherlands, Oct. 3, 1879, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Fedders, with whom he came to America at the age of 2 years. His childhood and youth were spent at Baldwin, Wis. and in northwest Iowa. On Feb. 16, 1908 he was married to Miss Hiltje Mulder of Hospers.

They lived at Orange City one year and at Carnes for eight years. Then they moved to the vicinity of Ireton where they spent twenty-eight years on a farm. For the lastfive years they lived in Ireton. Their home was blessed with seven children. Mr. Fedders was active in church work and served his church as an elder for several years.

Survivors are the wife and following children, Mrs. George Westra and Gerrit Fedders of Ireton. Dick Fedders of Hawarden, Mrs. Peter Westra of Bellflower, Calif., Ben Fedders of Sioux Center and Mrs. Walter Van Meeteren of Sheldon. Also 21 grandchildren and one brother. Gerrit Fedders of Orange City.

Preceding him in death are one son, Henry, who died at the age of 18 years in 1936, a sister, Mary Alons and a brother, John Fedders.
