Funeral services held Oct. 13 for Gerrit Fedders, 54

Funeral services were held at the First Reformed Church here at 1;30 p.m. Wednesday, October 13, for Gerrit Fedders, 54, who passed away at his home Sunday evening, October 10, at 6 p.m. after a lingering illness of approximately 5 years. Services were conducted by Rev. R. Van Heukelom and Rev. Robert Bast and burial was made in the Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Van Etten Funeral Home.

Mr, Fedders was born January 16, 1911 at Orange City, Iowa, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerrit Fedders, Sr, He was united in marriage to Henrietta Van Roekel on January 15,1937 who passed away on October 31, 1941.

On January 3, 1949 he was united in marriage to Harriet Vander Meer. Two sons were born to this union.

Survivors are the widow; two sons, Verlyn 14, and Bruce 9, four brothers, Ben, John, Marinus and Herman all of Orange City; two sisters, Mrs. John (Kate) Jasper and Mrs. Neal (Grace) Dykhuizen of Orange City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother and sister who died in infancy.
