Robert Feekes, 55, of Sheldon, died Monday, October 16, at Northwest Iowa Health Center in Sheldon.

Private services were held Thursday, October 19 in East Lawn Cemetery under the direction of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home. A memorial service was held in Bethel Reformed Church in Sheldon with Rev. Kenneth Tenckinck officiating.

Mr. Feekes, son of Gradus and Rena Feekes was born March 1, 1934, in Sioux Center. He married Jeanne DeVries September 9, 1955, in Sioux Center. He worked at the Cenex Land O’Lakes Company for 32 years.

He was a member of Bethel Reformed Church, serving as elder and former deacon. He was the present director of the Sheldon Industrial Development Commission and former member of the Sheldon City Council, past president of Bethany Christian Services Board and former member of the Sheldon Lions Club and Kiwanis Club.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanne; two sons, Duane of Orange City and Gary of Chandler, Arizona; three granddaughters; his mother, Rena Vanden Hull of Rock Valley; three brothers, Ted of Peterson, George of Sioux City and Gerrit of Avoca, and two sisters, Winnie (Mrs. Dennis) Scholten of Steen, Minnesota, and Matilda (Mrs. Art) Moss of Valley Springs, South Dakota.
