Bertha M. Feekes, 55, of Hawarden died Sunday, March 21, 1993, at a Sioux City Hospital after a long illness.

Services will be 1:30 P.M. Thursday at the Porter-Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden with the Rev. David Tellinghuisen officiating. Burial will be at a later date at the Grace Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Feekes was born November 19, 1937, at Inwood, the daughter of Bert and Grace (Verdoorn) Bliek. She attended Rock Valley High School and had made her home in Hawarden since 1967. She was a waitress at Tom’s Café and later worked as a home health aide. She was employed and later managed the Casey’s General Store until her retirement because of poor health.

Mrs. Feekes was a past member of the Hawarden Community Church (RCA).

Survivors include three sons, Roger of Denver, Terry and his wife, Kim of Hawarden and Curtis and his wife, Patty of Sioux City; a daughter, Debra and her husband, Dave Bargman of Beresford, South Dakota; two brothers; four sisters; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
