Sioux County Capital, September 24, 1987

James J. De Roo of Long Beach, Calif., formerly of Orange City, died on Aug. 25, at a hospital in California.

Services were held Aug. 29 at Dilday-Mottell's Pacific Chapel in Long Beach with interment at Rose Hills Memorial Park.

Mr. De Ross was born May 16, 1909, near Newkirk and moved to California in 1936. In 1941 he married Helen Campbell of Whittier, Calif. The couple resided in Long Beach, Calif.

Survivors include his wife, Helen; a sister, Elsie De Jong of Orange City and several nieces and nephews.
