Miss Wilmyna Van Hill, age 91, of Orange City, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2014, at the Prairie Ridge Care Center in Orange City.

There will be a funeral service on Saturday, September 6, at 11:00am, at the Redeemer United Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. Todd De Rooy will officiate. Interment will follow at the West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City.

Visitation with the family will be the hour before the service on Saturday at the church. Arrangements are with the Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City.

Wilmyna Henrietta was born on March 19, 1923, in Steen, Minnesota, the daughter of Johannes and Arta (Van’t Holl) Van Hill.

She lived in Minnesota until the early 1950s, then she made her home in Orange City with her brother, Dick, who passed away in September of 1980.

In January of 2006, she became a resident of the Heritage House Nursing Home in Orange City. She transferred to Prairie Ridge in October of 2013.

“Myna” was a member of the Redeemer United Reformed Church.

She worked at various places doing domestic work, including the Pioneer Memorial Home in Orange City.

Miss Van Hill enjoyed reading and singing.

Survivors include many nephews and nieces and a longtime assistant and friend, Leona Noteboom, of Orange City.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers and sisters.

Memorials will be directed to the Covenant Foundation of the Orange City Christian School.
