Miss Arnetta Vander Wilt, age 86, of Hull, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2014, at the Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull.

There will be a memorial service on Monday, September 8, at 10:30am, at the First Reformed Church in Hull. The Rev. Kevin Yurk will officiate. Interment will be prior to the service at the Hope Cemetery in Hull. There will be a family prayer service on Monday, at 9:30am, at the Oolman Funeral Home in Hull.

Visitation will be after 3:00pm on Sunday, with the family present from 3:00pm to 4:00pm, at the funeral home.

Arnetta Mae was born on June 21, 1928, at Hull, the daughter of William J. and Nellie (Gunnink) Vander Wilt. She was raised at Hull, where she graduated from the public high school. She also attended the Nettleton Business College in Sioux City.

She was first employed at First Federal Savings and Loan in Sioux City. Later, she returned to Hull, where she was a secretary and office manager at the De Koster Law Office for many years.

In May of 2005, Arnetta became a resident of the Pleasant Acres Care Center. She transferred to the Sanford Memory Unit in Sheldon in January of 2009. In October of 2013, she returned to Pleasant Acres.

She was an active member of the First Reformed Church, where she served on many committees.

Survivors include a sister, Adriana Peacock, of Pensacola, Florida; a special friend, Bernie Wissink; several nephews and nieces, including Janyce Brunsting, of Hull, and Richard and Delores Vander Berg, of Orange City; and many friends. Janyce, Rick, and Lori helped care for her these last years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother and his wife, John and Irene Vander Wilt; three sisters and their husbands, Henrietta and Ed Jouwstra, Sophia and Henry Koele, and Frances and Richard Vander Berg; and a sister, Carol Kruizenga.

Memorials will be directed to the church.
