Frieda Vander Ploeg, 86, of Sioux Center died Tuesday, July 25, 2000 at Sioux Center Community Hospital Nursing Facility.

Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at New Life Reformed Church in Sioux Center with the Revs. Carl Boersma and Brook Stephens officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. today in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Vander Ploeg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Vander Ploeg was born June 15, 1914, in Hull, Iowa, the daughter of Rev. Luke and Maggie (De Jong) Brunsting..

She married Arthur Vander Ploeg on June 15, 1937 in Sioux Center. Her husband died Nov. 12, 1991.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Stanley and Rejonna of Sioux Center,; three daughters, Margery and her husband, Howard Beernink of Sioux Center, Gerry Vande Garde of Bloomington, MN. and Belva Van Gorp of Sheldon, IA. 7 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, the Rev. Dr. Bernard Brunsting of Stuart, Fla.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Brusting; a sister, Margaret Kneppe; and infant son, Conrad; a grandson, Lee Beernink; and infant granddaughter, Lynne Beernink; and son-in-law, Elwin Van Gorp.
