Died:January 27, 1991 Rock Valley, IowaCoba Vanden Berg, 72, of Rock Valley, died Sun. Jan. 27, at Valley Manor Nursing Home in Rock Valley after a long illness.
Services are at 2 p.m. Wed. Jan. 30 at Netherlands Reformed Church of Rock Valley, with the Rev. John Den Hoed officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery.
The former Coba Kooima was born March 28, 1918, near Rock Valley. She married Ben Vanden Berg March 17, 1938 in Rock Valley. The couple farmed east of Rock Valley.
She was a foster grandparent at Hope Haven School in Rock Valley for many years.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, John B. of rural Rock Valley and Donald of Lynden, WA.; a daughter Eldora Jamgotch of Grand Rapids, MI; two brothers, Henry and Elmer Kooima, both of Rock Valley; a sister, Ann Jansen of Hull; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
