Pipestone Woman's Father Killed in Truck Crash

Ted Van Meveren, 68, a Wabasso farmer, was killed when the pickup truck he was driving was struck broadside by an empty semi-cattle truck owned and driven by James Larson, 66, Pipestone. The accident occurred at the intersection of highways 19 and 273, 10 miles west of Redwood Falls at 10:45 a.m. last Wednesday morning.

Van Meveren was going south on 273, across 19, when the mishap took place. The Van Meveren vehicle rolled into the southwest ditch and the truck was stopped by trees 150-200 feet from the road.

Funeral services for Mr. Van Meveren wee Saturday in Redwood Falls.

Survivors include his wife, two sons and two daughters. One daughter, Mr. Alfred (Helen) Hinrichs, lives in Pipestone.
