Jennie Vande Brake, 77, of Sioux Center died Thurs. Dec. 3, at Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Mon. Dec. 7 at First Reformed Church in Sioux Center with burial in Memory Gardens Cemetery with Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center in charge of arrangements.

The former Jennie Klarenbeek was born Oct. 19, 1915 in Gelderland, The Netherlands, the daughter of Cornelius and Hermina Klarenbeek. She came to U.S. at age 7. She lived her youth and attended rural schools in the Sioux Center area. She married Gerrit Vande Brake Oct. 9, 1948, in Sioux Center. The couple farmed in the Sioux Center area until his death in 1984. She moved to Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull in 1991.

She was a member of First Reformed Church in Sioux Center.

Survivors include a daughter, Gertrude and her husband Barry Roberts of Lisbon, Maine; two brothers and their wives, Herman and Rosanna Klarenbeek of Sheldon and Cornie and Jennie Klarenbeek of Grandview, WA., and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Ray Klarenbeek.
