Funeral services for Wallace Fie, 87, of Rock Rapids were held Saturday at First Congregational Church, Doon, with interment in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery, George.

He died Tuesday, October 22, 1991, in Lyon Manor Care Center, Rock Rapids.

Mr. Fie was born April 25, 1904, in Hull. He served in the Navy then married Laura Rachuy February 9, 1932, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He worked in restaurant in Sheldon, Rock Valley and owned a restaurant in George before owning and operating the Corner Café in Doon from 1937 until retiring in 1969.

Wallace and Laura moved to Lyon Manor Care Center October 20, 1989.

He was a member of the Sapphire Lodge #427 of Rock Valley and was a shiner.

Survivors include his wife, Laura; one brother, Ralph of Spencer, and one sister, Velma Lockard of Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
