Nellie Driesen, 86, of Rock Valley died Monday, September 20, at Valley Manor, Rock Valley. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at First Christian ReformedChurch in Rock Valley with the Rev. Paul Bakker officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley.

Mrs. Driesen was born May 29, 1918, at Orange City, the daughter of Albert and Minnie (Hubers) Gerritsen. She married John J; Driesen on March 5, 1937, at Orange City. They lived in Rock Valley and Bellflower, California, then back to Rock Valley in 1953. She was a housekeeper before the couple became custodians of First Christian Reformed Church for 27 years. She moved to Valley Manor in July 2001. He died July 28, 2003.

Survivors include three sons and their wives, Jim and Etta of Rock Valley, Alfred and Kathy of Mohave Valley, Arizona, and Junior and Aleatha of Ripon, California; three daughters and their husbands, Mina and Herb Bliek of Sioux Falls, Hester and Herb Caswell of Le Mars and Linda and Tim Rens of Sioux Falls; 16 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; two sisters, Harriet
Driesen of Sioux Center and Winnie Wielenga of Orange City; and three sisters-in-law, Gladys Gerritsen of Spencer, Tena Gerritsen of Chino, California, and Florence Gerritsen of Sioux City.

She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Albert, Henry, John, Pete and Bill Gerritsen; and sisters, Hattie Vande Kamp, Ida De Jager, Alice Lems, Anna Roelofs and Minnie Roelofs.
