Lucille Jean Foreman, 84, of Orange City died Tuesday, October 24, at the Orange City Area Health System. A memorial service was Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Alton Presbyterian Church in Alton with Ronald Brink, C. L. P., officiating. Interment was at the Nassau Township Cemetery, near Alton.

Mrs. Foreman was born on June15, 1922, in Brainerd, Minnesota,the daughter of Milo M. and Lucille(Grondin) Mayo. She was raised in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Missouri and Iowa. On August 25, 1939, she married Willard James Foreman in Emerson, Nebraska. They farmed at Alton until 1952, when they moved to a farm between Orange City and Alton. He died February 4,1995, in Sioux City. In 1995, she moved into Orange City. In 2003, she became a resident of the Orange City Area Health System LongTerm Care Facility. She was a member of Alton Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed sewing and crafts, especially painting, and she liked music, particularly playing her organ. She was known for writing regular and detailed letters.

Survivors include her daughter, Eleanor Westhoff of Le Mars; three sons, Donald Foreman and his wife Penny of Sergeant Bluff, Rodney Foreman and his special friend Marsha of Sergeant Bluff and Scott Foreman and his wife Irene of Alton; 21 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; a brother and his wife, Don and Shelly Mayo of St. Peter, Minnesota; and two sisters-in -law, Jean and Elaine Mayo, both of the St. Peter area. She was also 'preceded in death by a son-in-law, Ronald Haack; and two brothers, Robert and Earl Mayo. Memorials may be directed to the church.
