Burial Friday For Gerrit Fedders Sr., Who Died Sept. 15

Gerrit Fedders, Sr., who died Tuesday, September 15 at Grossmann hospital, after an illness of two weeks, was buried at the local cemetery, September 18. A. D. Van Etten was in charge of arrangements. At the time of his death, Mr. Fedders was 75 years 10 months and nine days of age.

He was born in Holland, and came to tihis country at the age of five years. His parents settled in Wisconsin, and four years later came to Sioux County.

In 1903 he was married to Nelme Hofland, who preceded him in death, in 1951. Children surviving are Ben, John, Gerrit, Marinus, Herman and Grace (Mrs. Neal Dykhuizen) all of Orange City, and Kate (Mrs. John Jasper) of Alton. Two children died in infancy.

Other survivors included 25 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one sister. Two brothers also preceded him.

The funeral was held Friday at the Herman Fedders home, where he had been living for the past 6 tmonths, and at the First Christian Reformed Church. Rev. A. Dusseljie was in charge of the service.
