A stillborn daughter Sandra Gayle, their first child, was born to Mr. and Mrs. John Santema at the Grossmann Hospital at Orange City on Thursday morning February 1. The mother is the former Joyce Gort of Doon.

Short graveside services were held at the local cemetery on Friday morning February 2. Rev. P.A. De Jong officiating.

Here from out of town at attend the funeral were her parents Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Gort and son Earl of Doon, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Santema of Sheldon and Mr. and Mrs. John Gort of Worthingter, Minnesota.
