Mrs. Elven Green, who lived in the Hawarden vicinity practically all her life, passed away at her home at 7 o’clock Sunday morning from a heart attack. Mrs. Green suffered a severe heart attack two years ago in March on the street of Hawarden while and was confined to the Hawarden Hospital for weeks.

She never recovered from the attack but last Saturday she seemed to be feeling exceptionally well. Mr. Green and his son Glenn had gotten up Sunday morning and when the son went to the bedroom he discovered that his mother had suffered another attack and she lived but a few moments.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Hawarden at 1:30 Monday afternoon with the Rev. Robert F. Chapler in charge. Interment was made in Grace Hill Cemetery.

Anna Voverka, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Voverka, was born in Grundy county, Iowa, March 27, 1886, and so was past 55 years of age at the time of her death. She came to the Hawarden vicinity with her parents when three years old and for a time the family lived on a farm east of Hawarden.

Later they purchased a farm south of Hawarden and she grew to young womanhood there. She was united in marriage with Elven Green in Hawarden June 24, 1908, and to this union were 10 children, one of whom preceded her in death.

The children who, with her husband, Elven, survive her are: Mrs. Nolan Waterman, Mrs. Larry Lauder, Kenneth, Floyd, Andrew, Lyle and Glenn Green of Hawarden; Mrs. Herbert Marshall of Alcester and Mrs. Raymond Waterman of Waterloo. She also leaves three sisters: Mrs. Roscoe Dick and Mrs. Ira Van Buskirk of Hawarden and Mrs. J.R. Warner of Ireton, and her step-mother, Mrs. Ella Voverka of LeMars.

Mrs. Green joined the Methodist Church when a girl and remained a member until death claimed her. She was a kind and loving wife and mother and sincere sympathy is extended to the family in their bereavement
