Elvin Green, 72, died Sunday night at the Hawarden Hospital where he had been a patient since December 7.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 this afternoon (Thursday) at the Frazier Funeral Home and at 2 o’clock at the First Methodist Church with Rev. S.A. Kruschwitz in charge. Interment will be in Grace Hill Cemetery.

Norris Elvin Green was born December 5, 1882 , at La Grange, Missouri. When a young boy about 14 he moved with his parents to a farm near Hawarden.

He married Anna Belle Voverka of Hawarden June 24, 1908. They lived all their married life in or near Hawarden and Alcester. Mr. Green was a farmer until 1936 at which time he moved to Hawarden. He was employed seven years at the Lambertson elevator.

Since the death of his wife, Anna, fourteen years ago, Mr. Green lived alone and active until last May. He still continued to live alone until September when he made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Herbert Marshall in Hawarden.

He was a member of the First Methodist Church in Hawarden.

He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Beulah Waterman of Montour, Iowa, Mrs. Opal Waterman and Mrs. Herschel Lindquist of Waterloo and Mrs. Vivian Marshall of Hawarden; four sons, Glenn of Waterloo, Floyd of Ireton and Kenneth and Lyle of Hawarden; 26 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Nora Dick of Chicago, Mrs. Bertha Wiseman of Polk City, Iowa, Mrs. Mary Brest of Des Moines, and one brother, A.C. Green of Hawarden.

His wife, two sons, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two sisters preceded him in death.
