Died: 1910

Warren Green died Sunday morning at Hawarden following an operation for an obstruction of the bowels. The Independent says: Mr. Green had been suffering from his trouble for some time but did not realize the seriousness of his condition until Thursday when Dr. McCarty was summoned. Friday it was decided that an immediate operation was necessary as the only possible means of saving his life. Drs. McCarthy and Bemis and McAllister performed the operation and they found a much worse internal condition than they anticipated and at once reached the conclusion that the patient could not survive. He passed away on Sunday morning.

Warren was born on May 2, 1865 at Rockford, Illinois to Luther Warren and Mary Jane (Murray) Green. At the age of ten he moved with his parents to the state of New York and after six years residence there removed to Mitchell, South Dakota where he resided until 1889.

He married Thirsa Jane Gilfillan on July 12, 1889 at Mitchell, South Dakota. Together they had five children. They are Lucy, Ida, Winnie, Florabelle, and Clarence Warren. He was engaged in business in Sioux City for sixteen years. Three years ago he came to Hawarden and opened a restraunt and did a very successful business--selling out less than two months ago.

Warren died on Apr. 17, 1910 at Hawarden, Iowa at the age of forty-four years.

He is survived by his wife, Thirsa Jane; four daughters and one son. He also leaves two brothers; William Green of this city and Francis Green of LeMars.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Warren and Mary Jane Green.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Ambler Tuesday afternoon.
