Andrew J. Green, 42, died last Thursday at the Hawarden hospital where he was taken two days previously.

Mr. Green was taken ill last May while on a county road project and was seriously ill at that time. Although he returned to work, he did not fully recover from his ailment.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon at the First Methodist church with Rev. B. Roy Brown officiating. Hal Shoemaker with Mrs. P. W. Peters as accompanist sang "In the Garden" and - "Sweet Hour of
Prayer."

Pall bearers were Truman Watkins, Willard Lang, Clayton Newman, Leonard Dietz, Edward Bolluyt and Tony Bolluyt. Burial was in Grace Hill cemetery under the direction of the Barnard Funeral Home.

A son of Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Green, he was born December 29, 1911, on a farm in Sioux county. He received his education in and around Akron and Hawarden.

As a young man he started he started working as a road construction employee with his uncle, Ira Van Buskirk. For the past 25 years he followed this line of work, being employed by various construction companies. He was one of the employees on the Alaskan Highway. For a number of years he was road construction foreman in Sioux county.

He married Miss Harriet Timimer of Hawarden December 12, 1933, and to this union was born one daughter.

Besides the widow and daughter, Patsy, he is survived by his father, Elvie Green, and four brothers and four sisters, Mrs. Waterman of Montour, lowa, Mrs. Raymond Waterman, Mrs. Herschel Lindquist and Glenn Green, all of Waterloo, Lyle Green of Franklin, Neb., and Kenneth and Floyd Green and Mrs. Herbert Marshall, all of Hawarden
