Lucyle Green, 87, of Hawarden, Iowa died Friday, February 10, 2006 at the Hillcrest Health Care Center in Hawarden.

Funeral Service will be at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Hawarden with Pastor Stuart Schreur and Pastor Michael Hyde officiating. Bull will follow in Grace Hill Cemetery at Hawarden. At Lucyle’s request, her dog Mitzi’s cremated remains will be buried with her. Visitation will begin at noon Monday, with an Order of the Eastern Star Service at 7:00 P.M. Monday at the Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden.

Lucyle Green was born October 5, 1918 at Traverse City, Michigan, the daughter of Tracy and Hazel (Ghering) Gibson. She graduated from high school and was a secretary for Dr. B.W. Green in Michigan. She married Rex R, Green on December 28, 1955 at Sioux Falls, South Dakota. They farmed west of Hawarden, Iowa in Union County, South Dakota. Lucyle was a secretary for lawyer C.B. Thompson in Hawarden. The couple moved into Hawarden in 1997. Rex died on March 21, 2000.

Lucyle was a member of the Vesper Chapter #70 OES of LeMars, Iowa and a member of PEO and MIC in Hawarden. She attended the First Baptist Church in Hawarden.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Jane Green of Primghar, Iowa; and two grandchildren, David Green and Michelle Potter.

Lucyle was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a son, Ron in 1995
