Agnes Elaine Klein, 88, of Granville, IA passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2004 at Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen. Agnes was born January 27, 1915 at rural Granville, IA the daughter of Jacob B. and Cecelia (Goebel) Klein. Aggie was raised in the Granville area and received her education in the rural school system and later at St. Joseph's Catholic School in Granville.

After her education she continued to live and help work on the family farm. She and her brother Leo later moved into Granville where they made their home. She had been a resident of the Happy Siesta Health Care Center since October 1, 2002. Funeral Services were held 10:30A.M. Friday, January 16, 2004 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Granville by Msgr. Kenneth Seifried. Burial was at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Granville. Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen, Iowa was entrusted with the arrangements.

Survivors include two sisters, Mary Ann Penning of Granville, Sister Tresa Klein, O.S.F. of Dubuque, IA; one sister-in-law, Luella Klein of Granville; numerous nieces and nephews. Agnes was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Throughout her life Aggie loved to travel, garden and visit her relatives. Casket Bearers include Mark and Keith Kellen, Brad Ackerman, Harold Naber, Leon Pottebaum, Joe Gaul.

Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Ann and her husband Edward Penning, Sister Oda Klein, O.S.F. who died on December 4, 2003; four brothers, Nick, Henry and his wife Evelyn, Leo and Lawrence Klein; a brother-
in-law, Julius Penning.

Visitation was after 4:00 P.M. on Thursday. There was a parish rosary at 5:00 P.M. and a vigil prayer service at 7:30 P.M. all at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Granville.
