Alice Grevengoed, age 88, died Saturday, November 16, 2002 at the Valley Manor Nursing Home in Rock Valley. Funeral services were held November 20 at the First Christian Reformed Church in Rock Valley with burial at Valley View Cemetery. The Rev. C. Eric Fennema was the officiant.
Alice Van Otterloo was born on January 10, 1914 in Rock Valley, daughter of Herman and Rolena (Kooima) Van Otterloo. She attended Rock Valley Christian Grade School.

Alice married Jake Grevengoed on January 10, 1935 on the Van Otterloo farm near Rock Valley. Together they farmed Southwest of Rock Valley until their retirement in 1974. They then moved into Rock Valley. Alice moved to the Valley Manor in October 1999. Alice was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Rock Valley and also a member of its Martha Circle. She enjoyed her flowers and crocheting. Alice loved her family, and most of all, she loved her Lord.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Jake, of Rock Valley; their children and their spouses: Ruth and Les Dorhout of Ireton, Jay and LeAnn Grevengoed of Rock Valley, Althea and Rod Brunsting of Grand Rapids, MI and Don and Lois Postma of Ireton; one sister, Ann Mulder of Rock Valley; one sister-in-law, Margaret Van Otterloo, of Rock Valley; 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Alice was preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Postma; 2 grandchildren: Connie Postma and Kory Grevengoed; 4 brothers: Steve, Sam, John and Cliff Van.Otterloo; 2 sisters: Lena Van Pykeren and Tracy Koedam.
