Pamela Sue Peitzman, 40, of Parker, Colo., died Sunday, April 4,2004 at Lone Tree, Colo., after a lengthy battle with breast cancer. A private memorial service was held April 7 at Eastern Hills Community Church, Centennial, Colo.

Pamela Peitzman was born Nov. 30, 1963 in Hawarden, the daughter of Wilbur and Lucille (Mooibroek) Daale. When she was 16, a horseback riding accident on the family farm severed her spinal cord, and she was left a paraplegic.

She graduated from Iowa State University with a BS in Meteorology. On Oct. 5, 1991 she married Donald Peitzman in Hawarden. In May of 1993 she began her career at .7 News in Denver as a meteorologist.

She was a member of the board of directors for Goodwill Industries, Easter Seal Society and Mountain States Horse Rescue and Rehab. She participated in the activities of many nonprofit organizations including Paralyzed Veterans of America, the Junior Wheelchair Sports Assoc., the North American Riding for the Handicapped Assoc., Ms. Wheelchair Colorado, Ms. Wheelchair America and Very Special Arts Colorado.

Survivors include her husband, Donald; daughter, Taryn; son, Logan; parents, Wilbur and Lucy Daale of Hawarden; sister, Lisa Ronsiek of Hawarden; and brother, Eric Daale of Clovis, N.M.
