Marjorie Nelson, 76, of Hospers died on Thursday, May 20, 2004, at the Orange City Municipal Hospital. There was a funeral service on Monday morning, May 24, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Hospers. Rev. Fr. John Vakulskas officiated. Interment followed at the church cemetery under the direction of the Oolman Funeral, Hospers. A parish rosary and a vigil prayer service were held at the church on Sunday afternoon.

Marjorie Marie was born August 19,1927, at Spencer, the daughter of Earl and Loreta (O'Keefe) Brahan. She was raised at Sanborn, where she graduated from high school. She also attended a business college in Sioux City for two years. On February 1, 1951, she married Veril Francis Nelson at Sanborn.

They made their home in Hospers, where she was a homemaker. For20 years, she was also a secretary and clerk at the J. C. Penny Store in Sheldon. Mrs. Nelson was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and the Guild. She was an avid fan of all sports and she liked music. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially going on picnics.

Survivors include her husband, a son, Kirk Nelson of Hospers and a sister, Earleen Bachman of Bloomington, Minn.
