Robert L. Mouw, 61, died Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at the Northwest Iowa Health Center in Sheldon. Funeral services were conducted at St. John's Lutheran Church, Sanborn, Friday, August 6, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. with family devotions in the church at 1:15 p.m. Pastor Jonathan Conner officiated. Interment was in Roseland Cemetery in Sanborn. Sanborn & Hartley Funeral Home Service made the arrangements.

Robert LeRoy Mouw, son of William and Trene (Dejong) Mouw, was born at Boyden on April 15, 1943. He lived his youth and received his education at Boyden. Bob was united in marriage to Judy Maranell on June 9, 1962, at Canton, SD. Following their marriage, they lived in Boyden but most of their married lifetime was spent in the Sheldon area. Bob was engaged in the carpentry and construction business. Judy died on May 7, 1992. Bob was currently engaged to Irene Schnurr of Hospers.

He is survived by his fiance, Irene Schnurr of Hospers; his children: Laurie Siemonsma of Archer, Teresa & Rodney Brown of Wilburton, OK, and Scott & Susan Mouw of Sheldon; 8 grandchildren: Jessie, Josh, Cassie, Brett, Austin, Daulton, Walker, and Alena; his mother-in-law, Amy Maranell of Sanborn; one brother, Bill Mouw of Tempe, AZ; one sister, Thelma Dick of Whitesboro, TX; Irene's children: Kevin, Dan, and Sarah Barnes, all of Sheldon; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Judy; one son: Robert C. Mouw; 2 brothers: Gary and George; his father-in-law: Marlin Maranell, and two half sisters: Bertha Behrens and Marge Reinsma.

Bob was a member of the Eagle's Club. Bob will be remembered for his devotion and the enjoyment he received from his carpentry and he also enjoyed camping.
