Patricia A. Vegors, 64, of Ames, died Tuesday, May 18, 2004, at U.S.A. Health Care in Fort Dodge, following a lengthy illness. A service was held May 22 in the chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with the Rev. Joyce Garton Natte officiating. A private graveside family service will be held at a later date at Fort Dodge Memorial Park Cemetery.

Patricia Anne Green was born Jan. 7,1940, the daughter of Andrew and Harriet Green Newman in Hawarden, She attended Hawarden High School and graduated in 1958. Following high school she married. She worked as a secretary at Duncombe Elementary School for many years and as a computer programmer with Trinity Regional Medical Center for 25 years.

Survivors include her husband, Dr. Mason Vegors of Ames; mother, Harriet Newman of Fort Dodge; five daughters, Rhonda Ruby of Badger, Vicky Bell of Goldfield; Chris Pedersen of-Humboldt, Lori Pringle of Fort Dodge and Larae Parks of Fort Dodge; two step-children, Dr. Donald Sievers of Slater and Suzanne Bayes of Dallas, Texas; former husband, William Thayer of Las Vegas, Nev.; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Richard Gunn.
