Marie Ver Hoeven, 80, of Inwood, died Friday, October 22, at Fellowship Village, Inwood. Burial was at Richland Cemetery. Memorial service was Monday at First Reformed Church, Inwood.

Mrs. Ver Hoeven was born April 26, 1924, near Ireton, daughter of Dick and Jennie (De Wit) De Groot. She married Donald Ver Hoeven on January 24, 1946, at her family's home. They farmed near Ireton before moving by Brookings, South Dakota, in 1950 and northeast of Inwood in 1963. She moved to Fellowship Village February 10, 1999. She enjoyed helping on the farm, her flower gardens, watching and feeding birds, and especially sending cards to her friends and family.

Survivors include her husband, Donald; sons, Lyle (Sheila) and Darwin, all of Inwood; daughters, Janice Ver Hoeven of Inwood, Sharon (Dennis) De Kruyf of Sioux Center, Marlene (Bernie) Niemeyer of Inwood; seven grandchildren; one
great-grandchild; and a sister, Priscilla Lockhorst of Ireton.

She was preceded in death by a brother Reuben and his wife Bernice De Groot; and a brother-in-law, Peter Lockhorst.
