Marion Meyer, 79, of Sheldon, died October 28, 2005 at Prairie View Home in Sanborn, IA.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tues. at St. John Lutheran Church in rural Boyden, IA with the Revs. Kim and Trudy Peterson officiating. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery. Andringa Funeral Home/Sheldon Funeral Service are in charge of arrangements.

Marion Augusta Meta Meyer, was born on December 18, 1925, on a farm near Boyden, Iowa, the daughter of John and Emma (Reyelts) Meyer. She lived her youth in Boyden where she attended Christian grade school and country school.

She was united in marriage to Edward John Meyer of Boyden, on January 15, 1948, at St. John Lutheran Church of Boyden. She loved her station in life as a farmer's wife and mother. Edward passed away on August 7, 1988.

Marion was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Boyden, where she was actively involved. She also volunteered at Oak Park Care Center in Sheldon and at the voting polls.

Marion enjoyed crocheting and quilting. She crocheted a dining room table piece for each of her children. She crocheted an afghan for each of her grandchildren when they graduated from high school. She enjoyed her flower and vegetable garden and canning. She also enjoyed her weekly card games and Rummikub with her friends. One of the most important things Marion loved was a get-together with her family and friends. The more people she got to see, the better.

She moved to Prairie View Home in Sanborn, Iowa, on August 5, 2005, where she passed away on Friday, October 28, 2005.

Those left to cherish her memories are a daughter: Kathlene and husband Marlyn Bootsma of Woodstock, MN; three sons: Gerald and wife Karen Meyer of George, IA, Eugene Meyer and fiancé Terri Lamfers of Sheldon, IA, Robert and wife Michele Meyer of Boyden, IA; eighteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; step-mother: Elsie Meyer of George, IA; three sisters: Lois (Jim) Lokhorst of Sioux City, IA, Laura (Clarence) Postma of Orange City, IA, Carol (Roger) Drenth of Sheldon, IA; two brothers: Wilfred (Carol) Meyer of Hull, IA, Marvin (Illeen) Meyer of Boyden, IA; brother-in-law: Harvey Klein of Rock Valley, IA; step-sisters: Illeen (Marvin) Meyer of Boyden, IA, Leona (Paul) Marco of Bigelow, MN; step-sister-in-law: Luella Loges of Boyden, IA; and many relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; her parents; one infant son; one infant granddaughter: Alexis Wise; three sisters: Elva Mooney; Pauline Klein, Augusta (infant); one brother: Rudolph Meyer; one step-brother: Elmer Loges.
