Larry Ranschau, age 60, died Saturday, November 6, 2004, at Hegg Memorial Hospital, Rock Valley, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Memorial graveside service will be at a later date. Porter Funeral Home, Rock Valley is assisting the family.

Larry was born October 24, 1944, to Henry and Lena (Baatz) Ranschau on the family farm south of Rock Valley. He graduated from Rock Valley High School. Larry served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army. He farmed all his life on the family farm with his brothers. Larry loved farming and riding his motorcycle.

Survivors include two brothers: Billie (Delia) and Dale (Donna), all of Rock Valley; two sisters: Shirley (Walter) Moore of Rock Valley and Carol (Orville) Rehder of Hawarden, IA; 12 nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Rodney
