Betty Reinders, age 75, of rural Alton, died Monday, June 16,2003, at her residence. A memorial service was held on Wednesday, June 18, at 3:00 p.m. at the Calvary Christian Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. Paul Bakker officiated. Burial was held at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City prior to the memorial service. Arrangements were under the direction of the Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City.

Betty Ann was born July 10,1927, at Orange City, the daughter of Ella K. (Sebade) Mulder. She was raised at Orange City where she graduated from high school. She then was a secretary at the Klay Law Office. On June 14,1952, she married Gerald Jacob Reinders at Orange City. They made their home in the Alton-Orange area where they farmed and she was a homemaker. Mr. Reinders died Nov. 28,1988,in Sioux City. Mrs. Reinders was a member of the Calvary Christian Reformed Church. She was a devoted mother, who enjoyed the outdoors, especially her garden.

Survivors include her six children, Cathleen and her husband, Buddy Rogers of Tyler, Tex., Gary J. Reinders and his wife, Mary of Orange City, David Reinders of Des Moines, Susan and her husband, Mitch Sorenson of Sioux City, Barbara Anne Reinders of Des Moines and Bruce Reinders of Traer; seven grandchildren, Megan, Emily, Grant, Sam and Joe Reinders; and Anna and Lauren Sorenson; 10 brothers and sisters, Winifred and her husband, John Kalsbeek of Orange City, Margaret Top of Orange City, Jim Mulder of Eloy-Toltec, Ariz., Doris and her husband, John Vogel of Orange City, Gerard Mulder and his wife, Adrianna of OrangeCity, Aiene and her husband, Gary Ritsema of Lakewood, Colo., Luella and her husband, Merlyn Wallinga of Orange City, Mary Lou and her husband, Gerard Reinders of Orange City, Helen Mulder of Oelwein and Linda and her husband, Brad Pietens of DeKalb.IL.; and four brothers in-law and sisters-in-law, Tony Buschbach of Denver, Colo., Kathy Mulder of Boulder, Colo, and Carol and Willard
Wolfswinkel of Le Mars.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Buschbach, a brother, Paul Mulder and a brother-in-law, Lambert Top. Memorials will be directed to Christian Reformed Church World Relief and Sioux County Hospice.
