Leonard Richard, 80, died Monday, September 27, 2004, at Morningside Manor, Alcester. Funeral was held Saturday at Porter Funeral Chapel in Rock Valley, Iowa.

Leonard Richard was born June 1, 1924, to Omer and Laura (Cole) Richard in Bottineau, ND. He began farming with his father at a young age. Leonard later served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy. After the war he moved to North Freedom, WI. He was united in marriage to Betty Nabors in 1950 in California. He lived in California from 1953-1965 where he worked for McDonald-Douglas Aircraft Corp. He returned to Wisconsin to work at an Army Ammunition Plant for 20 years before retiring in 1985. Leonard moved to Rock Valley in May of 2001 to be close to family.

Survivors include sons: Kenneth of Mineral Point, WI, Mark (Sandy) of Rock Valley, Allen "Chad" of Cross Plains, WI, David of Studio City, CA and Steven (Rhonda) of Middletown, WI; 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; brother Doward (Helen) of North Freedom, WI; sister Deloris Reuter of Waunakee, WI. He was preceded in death by his son Dennis; brother Omer; and sister, Maxine David.
