Tracy Boersma, 97, of Sioux Center died Sat. Feb. 10, at the Sioux Center Community Health Center.

Services were Wed. Feb. 14, at 12 noon at Covenant Christian Reformed Church, Sioux Center, with the Rev. Herman Van Niejenhuis officiating. Burial was in Richland Cemetery in Inwood.

Mrs. Boersma was born to Bastien and Margie (Boon) Vermeuler on Jan. 2, 1904, in Sioux Center. She attended school at rural Volga, S.D. She married John C. Boersma on Jan. 22, 1931 in Volga. The family lived in Rock Rapids six years before moving to Perkasie, Penn. They moved back to Iowa to farm by Inwood, then moved to Sioux Falls in 1958. They retired to Sioux Center in 1976. They were one of the first couples in the New Homestead.

She was a member of Covenant Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center where she was active in the women's groups and Bible study groups.

Survivors include two sons, Marion and Angie of Gresham, OR. and Ed and Judi of Minneapolis, MN.; two daughters, Cornelia De Vries of Spearfish, S.D. and Bertha Boersma of Sioux City; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Cornelius of Laguna Beach, CA; two sisters, Gertrude Schutt of Ripon, CA. and Nellie Mast of Volga; and one brother-in-law, Albert Boersma.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Peter Arie and Jake; and three sisters, Anna, Minnie, and Katie.
