Passed On

The Bee chronicles the demise of Mrs. Dora Roggman this week, which occurred Sunday evening at eight o'clock. Mrs. Roggman's taking away was rather sudden, only having been warned of the approaching end but three days before it came. For twenty years she has made her home with her son ad daughter who live six miles east of Rock Valley.

The subject of our sketch was born in Germany nearly four score years ago, and during the whole of her long life she has been patient and loving to her loved ones and cheerful and kind to her friends and neighbors. She possessed a sunny disposition and the strength of character to smile through good and ill fortune. An ever present smile was the chief characteristic of her temper, in fact all who knew her loved and respected her for the loving fraternal spirit she manifested at all times and under all circumstances.

The aged lady leaves a husband and a grown up son and daughter to mourn her loss. While the summons came rather suddenly, she had the kindest and most careful attention. She was treated by Mrs. S. E. Lindsay, Christian Scientist physician of Waterloo, Iowa. Her last days upon earth were spent with out pain and she expressed herself as being thoroughly comfortable and ready to depart from this world. The last rites were held in the First Church of Christ, Scientist, and her last earthly resting place is in the cemetery just south of Rock Valley.
