C. H.[sic?] Roggman died at his home in Rock Valley last week. He was born in Germany in 1820 and was married to Miss Anna Techen in 1851. He came to America in 1882 and located in Sioux county where he has since lived. Most of his life was spent in farming, but since last December he had lived in town. In early life he was a member of the Lutheran church but in later years was affiliated with the Christian Scientists. Funeral services were conducted from the home according to the ritual of that church.

(A review of the 1900 U.S. federal census schedule for Rock and Sioux townships did not find any Roggman family members.)
