Anna "Dolly" Berkenpas, 85, of Alton, died Sun. May 2, at Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley.

Services were at 1:30 p.m. Tues. at Alton Reformed Church with the Rev. Robert Vander Schaaf officiating. Burial was in Nassau Township Cemetery.

Mrs.Berkenpas was born June 10, 1913, in Alton, the daughter of Henry and anna Marie (Ketel) Scholten. She was raised in Alton. She married Leonard Berkenpas May 18, 1939, in Alton. They lived in Seney, Alton and Carnes. He died Nov. 2, 1975, in Carnes. Later, she returned to Alton. She became a resident of the Community Memorial Health Center in 1993.

She was a member of the Alton Reformed Church. She enjoyed church activities, crafts, and handwork.

Survivors include four sons and their wives, Ron and Sharon of Spencer, Rog and Jan of Fair Oaks, CA. Jim and Sharon of Sioux Center and Phil and Cheryl of Orange City; a daughter and her husband, Marianne and Bryan Wassenaar of Orange City; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Elroy, Gerrit and Lawrence Scholten; and five sisters, Julie Aberson, Marlys Rens, Leona Scholten, and 15 month old and a one-moth old.

Memorials are being directed to Community Memorial Health Center's Alzheimer's Wing.
