Mrs. Gretchen Hamersma, 70, of Tyler, Minnesota, formerly of this vicinity, died Saturday, October 30.

She was born in Friesland, Netherlands, October 19, 1878. On January 5, 1901, she married Gentuis Hamersma. She lived near Akron, Alcester and Hawarden and in 1937 she moved to Tyler.

Surviving include the following children: John of Hinckley, Minnesota, Henry of Florence, Minnesota, Martin and Albert of Hawarden, Clarence of Beresford, Ben of Akron, Frank of Pipestone, Minnesota, Mrs. H.L. Shriver of Tyler, Minnesota, Mrs. Donald Reitsma of Fairmont, Minnesota, Mrs. George Richeson of Dickens, Iowa; and 27 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held in the Baptist Church in Tyler and burial was at Ruthton, Minnesota.
