Carye Hamilton, 99, of Hawarden died Tuesday in a care center at Hawarden.

Services were at 1:30 P.M. Friday in the Associated Church in Hawarden. The Rev. Fredrich Mellberg officiated. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery. A prayer service was at 7:30 P.M. in the Dow Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hamilton, the formed Carye Smith, was born July 17, 1885, in Union County, South Dakota. She graduated from Hawarden High School and taught in the Scott School. She married James W. Hamilton March 12, 1913, at Hawarden. They farmed north of Hawarden. He died May 8, 1940, and she moved into town in 1943.

She was a member of the Associated Church and was a past member of Progressive Club, Sewing Circle and Womens Fellowship of the Church.

Survivors include nieces and nephews.
