Charles A. Hamilton, 83, of Alcester, a union county pioneer, died at the Hawarden Hospital Sunday, January 28, 1951.

Mr. Hamilton was born in Black Hawk county, Iowa, and came to Union County as a young boy. He was married to Dora Rossbach on August 4, 1894 and farmed until six years ago when he retired.

Survivors include the widow; three sons and three daughters, Johnny of California, Raymond and Earl J. and Mrs. Elsie Jacobs of Alcester, Mrs. Martha Gateway of Sioux City and Mrs. Margaret Ericson of Rock Rapids; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
