Bertha Godsey Brady of Sioux Center, 103, formerly of the Sloan and Whiting areas died Sat. March 30, at Sioux Center Nursing Home.

Services were Wed. April 3, at 2 p.m. at the Wood Funeral Chapel in Sloan. Burial was in the Sloan Cemetery.

Mrs. Brady was born march 19, 1899 at Pacific Junction, the daughter of William and Zillia Fisher. She married Bernard Godsey and they farmed for many years in the Whiting and Sloan area. They had two sons, William and Robert. During the Depression, she worked at Green Gables in Sioux City. She married Dan Brady in 1945 and moved to Seattle, WA. They became cooks at fraternity and sorority houses at Washington University until they retired. After the death of her husband she returned to Sioux Center in 1978 to be close to William and Mary Godsey. She lived in Franken Manor for 21 years.

She loved to knit, sew, read and cook. She especially liked working crossword puzzles. She always had a good sense of humor.

Survivors include her son William and his wife Mary Godsey of Sioux Center; four grandchildren, Linda and husband Jack Frisbie of Maryville, MO; Ann and husband Paul Den Herder of Haslett, MI; Charlotte and husband Michael Baltes of Ankeny, IA; and Robert Godsey of Bloomington, ILL; one sister, Irene Butcher of Trenton, MO; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers; eight sisters; and one son, Robert.
