Funeral services for Mrs. Albert Gerritsen, 72, were held in the home here on Monday at 1:15 and in the Christian Reformed church at 1:30. Dr. H. Kuiper officiated.

Burial was made at the Valley View cemetery. Mrs. Gerritsen died at the Le Mars hospital last Friday, July 8, following a long illness.

Mrs. Gerrtisen was born Minnie Hubers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Hubers, in Holland in 1877. She came to this country at the age of 16 and settled in the Sioux Center area. In 1898 she married Albert Gerritson. To this union were born 14 children. Two children preceded her in death: Minnie (Mrs. Heinie Roelofs) at the age of 27 and the other child was stillborn.

Survivors include the children as follows: Henry of Hudson; Albert of Rock Valley; John of Orange City; Peter of Sioux City; Hattie (Mrs. Gerrit Van DeKamp) of Sioux Center; Ida Mrs.Sam De Jager) of Hawarden; Alice (Mrs. Ben Roelofs) of Belleflower, Calif.; William of Artesia, Calif.; Harriet (Mrs. Henry Driesen) of Sioux Center, Nellie (Mrs. – John Driesen) Rock Valley, as well as the widowed husband.

Also surviving are four sisters: Mrs. Joe Peters, Mrs. Hans Moorlag and Mrs. Bert Van Den Berg of Rock Valley and Mrs. C. Grevenhof of Worthington, Minn. Two brothers: John Hubers of Harrison, S. D.; and Herman Hubers of the same place.

The Gerritsen family made their home in the Sioix Center vicinity for many years before retiring to Rock Valley.
