Funeral services were held at the First Christian Reformed church in Rock Valley at 1:30 p. m. Wednesday, March 11, for Albert Gerritsen, Sr. , 90, of Rock Valley, who died March 8 at the Sioux Center hospital. Services were conducted by the Rev. Leonard Van Drunen and burial was made in the Rock Valley cemeterv under the direction of the Co-operative Funeral Home of Sioux Center.

Mr. Gerritsen was born June 21, 1878, at Waupun, Wis. He married Minnie Hubers January 13, 1898 at Sioux Center. He farmed in the Sioux Center area until his retirement when he moved to Rock Valley. Mrs. Gerritsen died in 1949.

Survivors include four sons, John of Orange City, Peter of Sioux City, Albert of Rock Valley and William of Chino, Calif.; six daughters, Mrs. Gerrit Vande Kamp and Mrs. Sam De Jager of Sioux Center, Mrs. Ben Roelofs of Artesia, Calif., Mrs. Henry Driesen of Boyden, Mrs. John Driesen of Rock Valley and Mrs. Lou DeVries of Orange City; a brother, Jacob, of Rock Valley, 33 grandchildren and 106 great grandchildren.

Note: Iowa 1925 Census states his mother and father were Henry Gerritsen and Petje (Mulder) Gerritsen.
