From the Sioux County Bee and Rock Valley Register, April 14, 1899:
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Koltzy mourn the loss of their eight-months-old baby which died on April 9. The funeral was from the Catholic church Monday. The Bee extends sincere sympathy to the bereaved family.

The Sioux County Herald (April 12) and the Alton Democrat (April 15) also briefly noted the child's death, spelling the surname Koltze

(The Sioux County Cemetery Index has Mary Koltze, d. 8 Apr 1899, 8mo 26 days, dau of A. and H., buried St. Marys Cemetery, Rock Valley. The cemetery index also lists her parents: Henry C. Koltze b. 20 Jul 1870 d. 30 Jun 1960, and Anna M. Koltze b. 9 Jul 1877 died 8 Apr 1949, both buried St. Mary's Cem Rock Valley. The obit of Anna (Mrs. Henry) Koltze, posted separately, gives more family details. Anna's maiden name was Richter.)
