The funeral of Mrs. Holmes, who died on Wednesday, February 22, took place on the 24th. Deceased, who lived about six miles northeast of here, was an aged lady, having reached the age of 85. For about a year she has been suffering from a cancer, which finally caused her death. Services were held at the house by Rev. E. R. Mahood, before the remains were interred in the German Lutheran cemetery. The remaining friends and relatives have the sympathy of all in this sad hour of bereavement.

DIED.
Grandmother Holmes, who lives at the home of her son north east of town died yesterday morning. Her son John and wife, who had been in Arkansas for the past few weeks were summoned by wire and arrived to-day noon. Mrs. Holmes was well known in this community, especially by the old settlers. Her death was not unexpected for she has been ailing for some time past.
