Funeral services for Thomas Gerritsen, 92, of Rock Valley were held Friday, Feb. 27, 2:00 p.m., at the Pioneer United Methodist church with the Rev. William Ballard officiating. Organist Mrs. Pier Wynta accompanied soloist Mrs. Ed De Haas.

Pall bearers were Marvin Scholten; Gary Glenn; Bill & Mike Gerritson; and Dan Wentworth. Burial was in the Valley View Cemetery under the direction of Porter Funeral Home.

Mr. Gerritsen died Tuesday, Feb. 24, in the MPC hospital at Rock Rapids, after a brief illness.

Thomas Gerritsen was born April 15, 1877 at Waupton, Wisc. He married Jennie Speck.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, in 1958, two daughters, a son, a grandchild, two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors are four sons, John of Inwood; Albert of Charles City, IA; Cornelius and William of Rock Valley; four daughters, Mrs. Siebert (Nellie) Koning of Grand Rapids, MI; Mrs. Raymond (Ida) Haan of Sioux City; Mrs. John (Anna) Scholten of Hull, and Mrs. Guy (Elizabeth) Morgenstein of Denver, CO, 31 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren, 7 great, great grandchildren, and a brother, Arie Gerritsen.
