From the Sioux County Bee, November 25, 1898:
The 5-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Patrick, of Washington township, died Monday [Nov. 21], after a lingering sickness with scarlet fever.

(He was the son of John Albert Patrick and Ima Hastings Patrick -- see John Albert's obituary, Hawarden Independent, Aug. 22, 1946.)
