Mrs. Ed Smith of Huron, SD, 66, a former Hawarden resident, died last Thursday night from a heart ailment. Mrs. Smith had been in a hospital in Huron two months preceding her death.

Mr. & Mrs. Harold Smith and Mrs. Grace Wood of Hawarden and Mr. & Mrs. Porter Smith of Hudson went to Huron Sunday to attend the funeral.

Lelia Ross was born at Redfield, S.D., where she grew to young womanhood. About 40 years ago she married Ed Smith and after her marriage lived in Hawarden a number of years. Later she went to Port Orchard, Wash., but the past seven years had lived at Huron.

Survivors are her husband and two daughters, Mrs. Virgil Horner of Miller, S.D., and Mrs. Will Gronemeyer of Craig. The only son, Derold, was killed in an accident about 10 years ago.
