Clarence Hanzen, 62, of Inwood died Wednesday, -March 23, in the Canton-Inwood hospital after a long illness. Services were at 2 p.m. Friday, March 25, in the Christ Lutheran Church at Atvord. Pastor Ann Webb officiated. Burial was in Richland Cemetery. Visitation was from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 24, in the Porter Funeral Home in Inwood.

Mr. Hanzen was bom June 5, 1920, in Sioux County. He married Jennie Koenen Nov. 26, 1957, in Alvord. They farmed in the Inwood community until illness forced his retirement in 1982, at which time they moved into town. Mr. Hanzen was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Gary of Sioux Falls, S.D., Dennis of Inwood and Randy of Brookings, S.D.; one brother, Emil of Inwood and two sisters, Mrs. Fritz (Louise) Kock of Rock Valley and Mrs. Harold (Myra) Simunek of Canton, S.D.
