Alton Democrat of June 15, 1907

Thursday afternoon June thirteenth at his home near Alton occurred the death of John Van't Hull. Mr. Van't Hull has been ailing for several months past and death was due to heart failure which was brought on by exposure.

The deceased was born at Dorspick (Doornspijk) Holland November twenty third 1851 and he with his wife came to America in 1881 locating near Alton where he lived until his death. The father leaves a wife and five children to mourn his death.

The funeral will take place Saturday afternoon June fifteenth commencing at the home at one o'clock and two o'clock at the Dutch Reformed church. The funeral sermon will be preached by Rev. Van Duine and interment will take place in the Alton cemetery.

Mr. Van't Hull was a member of the Dutch Reformed church, was quiet and unassuming as he was he held the respect of all who knew him. Thus another pioneer has gone and has left the record of an honest and conscientious life.
