Hawarden Independent March 29, 1984

Dick Hulleman, 92, of Hawarden died Sunday, March 25, 1984, in a hospital in Hawarden. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 29, in the American Lutheran Church. The Rev. Robert Hansen will officiate. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery under direction of Dow Funeral Home.

Mr. Hulleman was born March 10, 1892, in the Netherlands and came to the United States in 1900. He married Mildred Meyers March 7, 1923, in Orange City. She died Oct. 27, 1980. . He had lived in Hawarden most of his life. Mr. Hulleman was a veteran of World War I, served on the Hawarden City Council and was a member of the American Lutheran Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars 'and Woodmen of the World.

Survivors include three sons, Melvin and Martin, both of Hawarden, and Thomas of Sioux City; five daughters, Mrs. Harvey (Neoma) Millikan of Cherokee, Mrs. Vernon (Winifred) Van Buskirk of Sioux Falls, SD, Rachel Hulleman of Hawarden, Mrs. Gene (Judith) Nelson of Fort Campbell, KY, and Mrs. Ralph (Mildred) Rasmussen of Alcester, SD; a brother, John of Barronett, WI; a sister, Grace Richardson of Clear Lake, WI; 20 grandchildren and 21 greatgrandchildren.
